Public website
The website does not set advertising or analytics cookies. It uses Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights to count page views and measure page speed. These tools do not set cookies. Sentry error reporting on the website does not set cookies. Signing in from a creator link sets one short-lived referral cookie, described below. It serves its fonts and images from the Logbook website. The hosting service processes requests to deliver the page and protect the service.
Creator referral cookie
Opening a creator link, such as logbookapp.net/r/JANE20 or a page link that ends in ?ref=JANE20, does not set a cookie. The creator code travels in the link to the sign-in page.
If you then choose Continue with Apple or Continue with Google to sign in or create an account, the website sets a first-party cookie named logbook_ref. It holds only the creator code, and only a code confirmed as an active creator code. It lasts up to 1 day. It keeps the code through the Apple or Google sign-in so we can add that creator's code to your account, which is the only use. We remove it once the code is on your account, or when the code can no longer be used. It does not identify you. We do not share it with creators or use it for advertising. You can delete it in your browser settings and still enter a creator code by hand.
Necessary account cookies
The web app uses first-party authentication cookies to keep you signed in. Authentication cookies follow the session lifetime and are cleared or expire when the session ends. These are needed to provide the account features you request.
Local app storage
Browser and device storage can hold app preferences, installation choices, unfinished drafts and sets waiting to sync. The installed web app can cache pages and static files for loading and recovery. The iPhone app uses secure storage for authentication and local storage for app state. Some items remain until you clear app data, sign out, delete your account or uninstall the app, depending on the item and platform.
Your controls
You can manage cookies and website data in your browser settings. Blocking necessary cookies can prevent sign-in. Clearing local storage can remove unsynced entries or unfinished drafts, so check that your saved work has synced first. Clearing browser data does not delete your Logbook account. See account deletion for that process.
